I’ll be 2013 AYC goal king, says Assifuah

The leading marksman for Ghana’s Under-20 side, Ebenezer Assifuah, says he wants to emerge as the goal king at the ongoing 2013 African Youth Championship.

The Liberty Professionals striker has netted three goals and is in pole position to clinch the tournament’s Golden Shoe award.

Assifuah scored against Egypt, Benin and Algeria.

“Before the tournament started, it was my objective to become the goal king. Our target was to qualify for the World Cup and win the African Cup,” the 19-year-old told MTNFootball.com.

“Fortunately, by the Grace of God I am leading the chart and I pray to God that I win.”

Assifuah has also won two Man-of-the-Match awards after the first stage of the competition.
