I have Kotoko at heart - Schmidt

Former Asante Kotoko coach Hans Dieter Schmidt says he has Asante Kotoko at heart and so has no bad intentions reporting the club to FIFA but thinks the Major Larsen administration didn't treat him fairly

He told Kumasi-based radio station FOX FM that all attempts to retrieve outstanding monies due him proved futile

'I love Ashanti teams, especially Asante Kotoko and King Faisal but the Major Larsen administration didn't treat me well because I even had outstanding salaries and other monetary issues to settle with the club. I tried retrieving what is due me but all efforts proved futile.'

'I have no problem with them and I can tell you Asante kotoko is my home team which I support and will always do.', he added

The German tactician, who took Asante Kotoko to the 2004 Confederation Cup final, is expected in town for the Easter holidays and a meeting is anticipated to take place between himself and Asante Kotoko.

In a related development,Asante Kotoko has written to the GFA to pay part of this debt with their share of the GLO sponsorship money that has been released.

According to our sources, each club is to get 62,000 dollars and Kotoko want 50,000 of that money to be used in paying off part of the debt, which stands at 99,000 Euros (Just over 134,000 USD).**
