I Snubbed Ghana - Salou

... Duya Vindicated
Salou Ibrahim claims he turned down the chance to play for Ghana at the World Cup in Germany because he feared getting hurt before his first season with Club Brugge.

The 26-year-old striker, who is moving to Brugge from Zulte Waregem, told Het Laatste Nieuws: "I cannot go with Ghana to Germany because of my new club. I cannot sell that to them.

"I do not want to get injured or break my jaw again. I am on the brink of an important season in my career and I want to be fit for the pre-season.

"The invitation was very tempting but every now and then, you have to think about your health."

Ibrahim recently applied for Belgian nationality.
