Hearts protest unprofessional conduct of Victus Amenyedor

Accra, March 3, GNA - The Management of Accra Hearts of Oak have protested against the unprofessional conduct of Captain Victus Amenyedor (Rtd) for having private discussions with players of the club with the intent of luring them to foreign clubs for his selfish and personal gains.

A statement signed by Mr Thomas Okine, Chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Hearts and copied to the GNA Sports said Amenyedor has shown gross disregard to the club's structures by circumventing their authority and rules governing transfer, which is not only unsporting but unprofessional.

The statement described Captain Amenyedor as the present Board Secretary of Accra Great Olympics and also doubles up as a scout for foreign agents looking for players in Ghana.

Mr Okine gave a litany of unprofessional conducts of Captain Amenyedor, which includes luring Laryea Kingston outside the country and consequently advising the relatives of the player to put undue pressure, including insults on the clubs' officials to transfer him under unfavorable terms.

The statement alleged that Captain Amenyedor was again instrumental in convincing Emmanuel Osei, a former player of Hearts not to sign a permanent deal with the club.

Mr Okine said the latest episode happened a few weeks ago when Captain Amenyedor brought an offer for Bernard Don Bortey for trials with Humburg SV Football club of Germany, to which the management indicated that it would be possible only after Hearts second leg match of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions league encounter against Stade Malien.

He said Bortey has since the Hearts and Olympics HIV/AIDS cup match last Sunday has not reported to camp and all attempts by management and Coach Ernst Middendorp to get the player back has proved futile. Mr Okine said their investigations have revealed that Captain Amenyedor is in the process of securing a visa for Bortey's trip to Germany this week.

"What is more annoying is Amenyador's reply when contacted on the phone when he said that instead of Hearts pleading with him (Amenyador) to let the player return to camp, they are rather fighting him", said Mr Okine

He said the action of Amenyador has constantly disturbed the focus of the players in addition to denying the club the use of its legitimate and duly registered players, which could seriously undermine its team building efforts.

The statement finally asked for clarification from the GFA as to whether Amenyador was a licensed FIFA Player Agent since his conduct is unacceptable.
