Hearts mutually agree to terminate Papic's contract

Accra, June 18, GNA - Premier League leaders Accra Hearts of Oak have mutually agreed to terminate the contract of Serbian trainer Kosta Papic after 11-months in charge of the Club. The fate of coach Papic, which has been in the balance following last Sunday's loss to archrivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko was completely deepened after a 0-1 loss to Kumasi King Faisal last Wednesday at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi.

Following successive losses in their last three games, the Phobians has seen their 14-point lead at the top reduced to five points with seven games to end the season.

A statement signed by Nii Ayi-Bonte II, Chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Hearts said "Following fruitful discussions between Hearts' Head coach Kostadin Papic and his employers, both parties have agreed to mutually terminate their relationship with immediate effect".

"Hearts agree to pay him full salary for June 2009. Hearts shall purchase his return ticket to Serbia. There shall be no further cross-obligation, pecuniary or otherwise on both parties," the IMC Chairman added.
