Hearts To Sign On More Players

Continental club masters, Accra Hearts of Oak have signed on two players with the acquisition of their "Card A's", so says club chairman Harry Zakkour.

The players are Dan Oppong and Don Bortey formerly of B/A Utd. and Ghapoha respectively. In a telephone chat, Harry Zakkour told Mailsports, "the players are in our fold. We have completed the necessary formalities."

The millennium chairman reiterated his clubs stand, saying Hearts will only buy players with the necessary potentials. He also intimated that the club would close its doors after signing on a few more players.

Asked how long Hearts of Oak will continue to dominate Ghana league football, Harry Zakkour answered, "for as long as we wish. Otherwise we will continue to hand over to ourselves."

To a question whether he sees Kotoko or Goldfields as a possible threat, Harry said, "Kotoko can only bark, they can't bite. The danger really is Goldfields, but King Faisal is the team to watch."

Dan Oppong relies successfully on skills, interceptions and anticipation. He is a firm believer in fair play and true sportsmanship. The well-built elegant defender refuses to be provoked in a game. Don Bortey on the other hand stresses on ball control and positional skills. He is a marksman with a powerful left- foot shot with wonderful reflexes. Don Bortey is a winger with a willingness to strike for a goal. He is an ace dribbler too.
