Hearts Reject GFA Order

Accra Hearts of Oak has rejected the two positions taken by the GFA on the Charles Taylor affair.
The position of the GFA is that (I) the registration of the player be suspended and (ii) that the case be taken or referred to arbitration.

According to a release signed by the Board Secretary of Heats to the GFA and its related organs and the press, the Phobians submitted that

    (1) Charles Taylor is not a floating player
    (2) In so far as the player has renewed his contract with the club for the next three years, any dispute about his intention must be construed to having regard to the new contract he has signed.
    (3) In the absence of any coercion, duress or fraud, a player cannot sign a contract and then decide that he has a 'new intention' so there is a 'dispute'. The player has nit even gone to the court of law to set aside the said contract.
    (4) What is the arbitration committee going to resolve? That Charles Taylor has a contract with Hearts or not? Or that he has a contract with Hea00rts or not? Or that he ahas s contract but the Arbitration has decided to set aside the contract and rather bassist the party who is trying to breach the terms of the contract?
The statement concluded thus ; Given the above reasons we wish to summarize our position as fellows
    (a) There is no basis for the invocation of the two clauses referred to herein above.
    (b) We would not take part in any arbitration since such a meeting is clearly misconstrued and also Kotoko has still kept the player with them.
    (c) It is obvious that the GFA seem incapable of taking a firm decision on the issue.
Meanwhile a sports enthusiast in Accra has said both Kotoko and the GFA are trying to circumvent the law on the Charles Taylor issue. According to Ebenezer Mills "if the GFA and Kotoko are both looking for a long protracted legal war they needn't worry at all."

The understanding being that, it will not be long when an injunction will be put on the Kinapharma League due to the saga of Charles Taylor.
