Hearts Name Squad For World Cup And Africa

African Super Cup champions, Accra Hearts of Oak yesterday forwarded a list of 25 players for the FIFA World Club Championships slated for Seville, Spain.

The list is the same as those submitted to CAF consist of the core of that brought them honours in Africa in their 89-year history.

Missing from the list are two new recruits namely Bernard Dong Bortey, who is being charged with alleged fraud by rivals Asante Kotoko and Matthew Attiogbe.

Sources indicate that the delay in securing their licenses and other issues led to the absence of their names from the list.

It is believed that they would be attached to the list, which has room for five more names but would certainly miss two matches of the CAF competition this year.

The old players registered are Adjah Tetteh, Osmanu Amadu, Amankwah Mireku, Emmanuel Osei Kuffour, Edmund Copson, Charles Allotey, Stephen Tetteh, Charles Taylor, Sammy Adjei gk, Agyemang Duah, Kenneth Sarpong, James Nanor gk, Eben Dida gk.

The newly recruited in the list are George Eranio, Kwame Antwi, Mohammend Bello, Stephen Owusu, Osei Kofi and Odartey Lawson. The rest are Abdul Razak, Masawudu Yayha, Richard Nii Noi and Dan Oppong.

Missing from the list are Joe Ansah and Emmanuel Adjogu which suggest that, both players might be heading out of Hearts of Oak for a foreign claub to start their international careers after a successful transfer.

Meanwhile Hearts of Oak are expected to register a total of 34 players for both the Local premier league and knockout competitions.
