Oyeeman Wereko Ampem II, President of the Council of Patrons of Accra Hearts of Oak, has congratulated the club on the occasion of its 93rd anniversary that falls today.

He said that a sound victory for Hearts over Cameroun?s Cotonsport on Sunday will be an appropriate 93rd birthday present for all Phobians, hence his appeal to all Hearts supporters to rally behind the club to ensure qualification to the Confederation Cup final.

In his anniversary message, Oyeeman Wereko Ampem II paid tribute to the invaluable sacrifice and contributions made by the club?s founding fathers, patrons, directors, management, technical and playing staff and the club?s entire supporters who have helped to make Hearts such a strong football institution.

Hearts? Chief Patron noted with pride that the club managed to stay unbeaten in 44 matches over 25 calendar months in domestic competitions, and also come close to qualifying for the Confederation Cup final following their exit from the CAF Champions League. He also congratulated the club?s directors and management for their foresight in relocating the club?s secretariat from Tudu to its own property at Farrar Avenue, now known as Phobia House.

While bemoaning the club?s financial handicap and the inability to organise its annual Congress to brainstorm and strategise, he called for a reorganisation of the supporters front so that they would make a more meaningful subscription to the club.
