HEARTS take on Real Madrid in the Bernabeu

Champions League winners Hearts of Oak have received a favourable draw in the World Club Championship despite being paired with European champions Real Madrid.

All the Group C matches will take place at Real's Bernabeu stadium, as well as one of the semi-finals and final.

The winners of each group plus the best second-placed team will advance to the semi-finals.

Hearts would not rule out their chances after also being drawn with 1999 Asian Super Cup winners Jubilo Iwata of Japan and 2000 Concacaf Champions' Cup holders Los Angeles Galaxy.

Egypt's Zamalek, who took the Cup Winners' Cup, but lost the Super Cup final to Hearts last month, have been given a much tougher task in Group A.

They face South American champions Boca Juniors of Argentina, reigning Spanish champions Deportivo Coruna playing in their own Riazor Stadium, and Australians Wollongong Wolves, who won the Oceania Champions Cup earlier this year.

Inaugural title

Group B is led by Brazilians Palmeiras, who won the South American club title, the Copa Libertadores, in 1999 and will be hoping to emulate compatriots Corinthians, who took the inaugural title on home soil last year.

Uefa Cup winners Galatasaray of Turkey, Asian Super Cup holders Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia, and Hondurans Olimpia, who were runners-up in the 2000 Concacaf Champions Cup, are the other Group B sides.

The first phase matches take place on July 28 to August 6, with the semi-finals on August 9 and the final on August 12.
