Gyan In £140,000-a-week Al Ain deal

Asamoah Gyan has quit Sunderland for a massive deal at Al Ain worth £140,000-a-week.

Gyan has delivered what Sunderland fans will see as the final insult - by signing one of the richest deals in world football while his old club make a loss on the Ghana striker.

The Mirror says Gyan is believed to have joined Al Ain - where he spent most of last season on loan after dramatically quitting the struggling Black Cats - for just £4m.

Even though the United Arab Emirates champions paid Sunderland a £6m loan fee last season, that still leaves Martin O'Neill's side over £3million down on what they paid Stade Rennes for the forward two years ago.

The Stadium of Light club are believed to have insisted on a percentage of future transfer fees in their deal, but it marks a significant downturn from recent reports which claimed Al Ain would pay £15m for Gyan.
