Gyan Euro career not over: Kuffour

Samuel Osei Kuffour is adamant Asamoah Gyan can still have a career at the top level in Europe after his controversial move to the United Arab Emirates.

Gyan's decision has been condemned in many quarters after he gave up the most watched football league for the UAE, where football is not close to the scale of the English Premiership.

The 25-year-old has also been criticised for putting money before ambition but Kuffour says he must be given the benefit of the doubt.

"He has had to make a very important decision and he says he made one after thinking it through with his family,"

"These are very personal decisions and what the rest of us can hope for is that he has made the correct one."

Kuffour is certain, however, that Gyan has not ruined his chances of playing at the top level again.

"He is young, he has a great track record that includes two World Cups where he showed good quality. There are examples of players who have gone to the Arab world and headed back to Europe, and he has time," Kuffour added.
