Gilbert Fiamenyo says Kotoko were lucky

Hearts of Oak striker Gilbert Fiamenyo says Asante Kotoko were lucky to leave the Accra Sports Stadium with a point despite the Phobians seeing little of the ball in Sunday’s friendly.

The Phobians were rescued by a 91st minute penalty to draw 1-1 after going down on 24 minutes through a Vincent Atingah own goal.

Hearts lost the first leg 2-0 and desperately needed something from this game to assure their teaming supporters they were not so far behind their sworn rivals.

Despite failing behind for long spells of the game, Fiamenyo says it was Kotoko who were lucky to have gotten something from the game.

“We played well and showed we are a good side in most part of the game and for me I felt Kotoko were the lucky ones today,” Fiamenyo told GHANASoccernet.com.

“I have played against Kotoko a couple of times and felt we had the drive ahead of them, on any other day we could have won this.

“But let’s all remember it was an interesting exercise for both sides to keep shape ahead of the season.”
