Ghanaian referees to handle Esperance/Zamalek match

Accra, Aug 2, GNA - Ghana's referee, Justus Agbeko has been appointed by the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) to officiate in this weekend's CAF/MTN Champions league match between Esperance of Tunisia and Zamalek of Egypt in Tunis, Tunisia. Referee Agbeko who is scheduled to fly out on Thursday, August 5, would be accompanied by two other Ghanaians, Nicholas Djomoah and Samuel Quaye.

The two would serve as the assistant referees during the duration of the hostilities between the two North African giants. Referees Agbeko this year handled a series of high profile matches in both the CAF Champions and World Cup qualifying games. He was in the middle of the game between Mali and Togo in Bamako, which ended abruptly as a result of crowd invasion by the Malians after Togo scored the winning goal in the dying minutes of the crucial tie. 02 Aug 05
