Ghana to submit 2015 AYC squad by Thursday

Clifford Aboagye will join as the 25th player at the Ghana Under-20 team camp in Turkey on Monday.

The Black Satellites have been holding the final leg of their pre-2015 Africa Youth Championship (AYC) camping in the city of Antalya since arriving on Saturday.

But four players will be axed when the final squad of 21 players is submitted to the Confederation of African Football for Ghana’s participation in the 20th edition of the AYC by midnight Thursday.

“The coach [Sellas Tetteh] has to settle on our final 21-man squad for it to be submitted to Caf by the 26th of February,” Kingsley Osei Bonsu who serves on the Black Satellites management Committee informed supersport.com.

Ghana have lined up two warm-up matches against Azerbaijan for Wednesday and Iraq on Sunday, March 2 before wrapping preparations four days later. “We expect to move to Senegal for the tournament after playing the two friendly matches hopefully from March 6,” Osei Bonsu said.

Ghana’s Satellites are in Group B alongside South Africa, Mali and Zambia for the AYC to be hosted by Senegal beginning March 8.
