Ghana to earn US$140,000 from Mexico game

The Ghana Football Association (GFA)'s coffers will be richer by US$140,000 thanks to the friendly against Mexico.

The game to be played at the Craven Cottage in London will serve as the Black Stars warm-up for the start of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.

GFA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi says apart from the team-building exercise the team will achieve from playing the game it is a financial boost for the federation.

''We will gain about US$ 140,000 from the game and this will helping the FA in executing some of its plans for the national teams,'' Nyantakyi said.

The international friendly game to be played in London on March 26 would be the first match for Ghana, bronze medallists at the Nations Cup, since their elevation to their status as Africa's best footballing team.

The match would be the second international game between both sides after their March 2006 friendly in the United States, which the Mexicans won by a lone goal.
