Ghana lose to complacency

Ghana's Black Queens contributed to their own loss at the final of this year's African Women Championship, a Ghanaian journalist told www.kickoffnigeria.com.

Veronica Mensah, who was at the Championship to cover the Black Queens said after their semi final victory over the Lionesses of Cameroon, the Queens lost all desire to win. "They were simply satisfied at having qualified for the World Cup and just seemed to want to get the final over with," she said.

Veronica also took a swipe at captain Aberta Sackey for performing below expectations. "Sackey did not play well at all, and should not have been included in the final match."

She however admitted that the coach had no option but to play her " She had scored four goals and was in contention for the top scorer award, so it is understandable, but at the World Cup, it would be better for her to start from the bench," she said.
