"Ghana-less" Nations Cup tickets on sale

Tickets for the forthcoming Nations Cup are now on sale in Tunisia's major cities, with just 11 days left until the event kicks-off.

The most expensive tickets will be those for the opening and final matches. When Tunisia play Rwanda in the curtain-raiser on 24 January, prices will range between about US $7.50 and US $22.50.

For all the other games, fans will pay between about US $3.25 and US $12. The organisers have also put together special packages for fans who want to watch at least five games, with a range of prices depending on the venue and the seating area.

Organising chairman Slim Chiboub said recently that the prices have been set so that they are affordable for the majority of fans.

However the organisers will also be hoping that the hosts reach the latter stages of the competition interest in the finals is sustained, therefore boosting ticket sales.

Hosting the finals ten years ago was a financial catastrophe for Tunisia as they went out in the first round, and the rest of the Nations Cup was played in virtually empty stadiums.
