Ghana, Names Squad For Meridian Cup

The handlers of Ghana's national under 17 team, the Black Starlets named the squad to represent Ghana in these years Meridian Cup in Bari, Italy.

After managing to hold Ajax Academy of Obuasi in Obuasi on Sunday to a one all draw, head coach Oti Akenteng named his team almost the same players he used for the African Youth Qualifiers which Ghana was kicked out in the first round.

Players making the trip are: Sulley MUNTARI, Suleman ABDULAI, Lukeman IMORO, Alex AGYEPONG, Lawrence Awuley QUAYE, George YAMOAH, Daniel COLEMAN, Felix ANKAMAH, Michael OCANSEY, Suleman ABUBAKARI, Augustine ADOFO, Jonathan QUARTEY, Christain AMPEH, Osei KUFFOUR, Rashid AVEVOR,Salou MUNTARI, Mohammend GADO, Mohammend ALHASSAN.

According to Mr Sylvester Mensah, F.A member and chairman of the Starlets management team, the Starlets would leave today for Milan and then connect to Bari.

They would be playing their first game against Czechslovakia on Saturday.

Also, on all rest days, the team (Starlets) would be sent to schools in Bari where they would have the opportunity to interact with students and also for the students to learn about the African concept of football.
