Ghalca is Extravagant - Kotoko IMC Boss

The Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee, Mr. Sylvester Asare Owusu has labelled the Ghana League Clubs Association, GHALCA as extravagant in their expenditure and "refusing to cut their coat accoording to their size"

"I cant understand why GHALCA is refusing to give enough money to we the performers" the IMC Chairman fummed with rage as he spoke on a number of radio stations on Monday.

He wondered why the GHALCA chose to spend as much as 150m cedis on Danny Jordaan on his visit to Ghana, apparently refering to Trevor PhilIps, the Chairman of the South African Premeir Soccer League, who recently visited Ghana as guest of Ghalca.

Mr. Asare Owusu stated that Asante Kotoko would not engage in any venture which would impact negatively on the finances of the club hence the decision not to play in the Coca Cola Tournament.

And as is usual of his administration, he would not end his explanations without casting insinuations at the former management of the club headed by Herbert Mensah.

"We are not fighting anybody, as was done sometime before we came into office. We have rather sought to build bridges with all statutory bodies but what we are saying is that we can't play and record losses". He said.

But in order to satisfy the club's supporters' hunger and thirst for football action, the IMC Chairman promised to organize "high profile international friendlies with teams from Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Togo" for the fans and at the same time use them as preparations for the upcoming season.
