GUSA Games: Legon beat UDS in

Cape Coast, Jan. 25, GNA - The University of Ghana on Saturday chalked their second victory in the soccer division of the GUSA games when they pipped University for Development Studies, Tamale 1-0 in the soccer competition of the on going GUSA games at Cape Coast.

University of Ghana who disposed of UST with a 2-1 win in their first match started the match strongly and opened the scoring in the 16th minute through centre forward Dominic Oduro.

Oduro after collecting a pass from Richard Opoku of Feyenoord fame who captained the Legon team raced with the ball virtually unchallenged to score the only goal of the match for the match winner.

On resumption of the second half, University of Ghana took an absolute command of the game and bombarded their opponents goal area with shots from all angles but UDS's agile goalkeeper, Dola William who was at his best form saved all the shots from the aggressive all attacking forward line of the University of Ghana.

The University for Development Studies had a golden opportunity to equalise when they were awarded a penalty in the 55th minute but centre half, Ibrahim Yusif's shot was parried over the bar by goalkeeper.
