GFA salutes glorious Starlets

Accra, May 18, GNA- The Ghana Football Association has sent a congratulatory message to the glorious national Under-17 team, the Black Starlets for booking a place in the grand finale of the African Championship underway in The Gambia

The Starlets on Tuesday killed two birds with a single stone when in a dramatic extra time display, they scored two late goals in their semi final match against Cote D'Ivoire to book a place in the finals and the World Cup Championship billed for Peru later in the year. The Starlets are scheduled to meet The Gambia, the host country who also beat South Africa in the finals on Sunday May, 22.

A statement signed by Mr. Kofi Nsiah, General Secretary of the FA and copied to the GNA Sports said, "We are proud of both the technical team and players for meeting the expectation of all Ghanaians". It encouraged the team to "eschew complacency and go further to win the cup at the finals".
