The Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Wednesday released the official standings of the 2003 Kinapharmah league table.

A release copied to the GNA Sports on Wednesday include the full standings of the sixteen clubs who played thirty matches each with fifteen at home and fifteen away.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko therefore accordingly won their first professional league title with 75 points to lead the first four clubs who qualified for the prestigious Coca Cola sponsored GHALCA Top Four which was won by King Faisal last week.

The two bottom clubs, Mine Stars and Stay Cool are therefore automatically relegated whereas the fourteenth placed club, B. A. United will engage the third placed club of the first division middle league matches, Gold Stars in a play-off slated for the Accra Sports Stadium on February 25 for a slot into the premiership. Stay Cool were declared losers in their home matches against Bofoakwa and RTU which ended 1-1 and 1-0 respectively according to the release.

Both BA United and Goldfields were declared losers in their home matches against Arsenals won by 1-0 each by both clubs and as a result three points each were deducted from the build up of both Goldfields and BA by a decision of the Disciplinary Committee (DC) of the GFA. Mine Stars also had three points deducted and awarded to Okwawu by the DC in their game which the former won 1-0 while Mine Stars were declared losers again by a DC action in their game against Accra Hearts of Oak which ended one all.
