GFA promises to co-operate with Black Stars coach

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has re-affirmed its preparedness to give Bukhard Ziese, the newly appointed Black Stars coach, all the necessary support and co-operation to ensure the country's qualification to the World Cup in 2006.

Mr Kofi Nsiah, General-Secretary of the GFA, who was speaking to the GNA Sports in Kumasi on Wednesday, said provision has therefore been made by the GFA to meet all demands by the coach.

"If Bukhard fails, the GFA has also failed and we are not prepared to repeat the experiences that we had with Milan Zivadinovic. That is why we are liaising with all stake holders to ensure the way forward for Ghana football."

He said as part of the provision, the GFA was working out with teams whose players had been called to the Black Stars to release them on time for camping.

Mr Nsiah further indicated that the GFA was leaving no stone unturned to meet the team build-up programmes of the coach including the financial assistance he might need to produce a winsome squad.

He disabused the minds of Ghanaians of the notion that because the Executive Council of the GFA rejected Bukhard Ziese's appointment as the Black Stars coach, it would strain their relationship.

The GFA has agreed in principle to work with Bukhard and as such we have buried our differences accordingly.

Mr Nsiah said the GFA made it categorically clear in the contract with Bukhard that he should let them know, before hand, his programmes and vision for the Black Stars so that the association could take prompt action to ensure success.

The GFA General-Secretary said with the personal initiative of Mr Ben Kouffie, GFA Chairman, to bring sanity into the administration of football in the country, football enthusiasts should rest assured that Bukhard's come-back was not going to be a failure.
