GFA investigates Adjei's case

The Status Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is currently investigating the transfer of Lawrence Adjei from Kumasi Asante Kotoko to a Russian Club.

A source close at the GFA Secretariat told the GNA Sports that the committee is taking enough time to conduct proper investigation into the case in order to arrive at a fair decision on the case.

The source said the committee has already heard the story of Lawrence Adjei who is seeking a floating status from the FA to enable him re-launch his career in Ghana after unsuccessful professional football in Russia and Germany.

According to the source, the committee is making contacts with the Russian club and the German club to which he was later loaned by the Russians to give their part of the story specifying the nature of contract they signed with the player.

The source indicated that the committee would invite the player and officials of Kotoko on March 27, for another hearing after which a judgement would be given.

Lawrence Adjei was transferred to Russian club Spatark Moscow by the Herbert Mensah administration two years ago, but the player has since returned to Ghana because he could not locate the whereabouts of his signing on fee as well as a reduction in his monthly salary after three months of the contract with the Russian club.

In related development, Akwesi Gyimah and Samson Ocran of GHAPOHA Readers have been granted floating status by the committee.

According to the source, GHAPOHA has declared its intention to allow the two players to leave the club.
