GFA has mechanisms in place to deal with betting - Kwesi Nyantakyi

President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, says even though the influx of football betting in the country could affect the integrity of games, the GFA has put in place safety and security mechanisms to deal with parties found fixing games.

The Black Stars Management Committee chairman, who was in Takoradi on Wednesday to address concerns within the Western Region Football Association, said his outfit has put in place working systems and structures so stakeholders in the game would not be used by betting syndicates to influence the outcome of matches.

"The issue of betting affects the integrity of football and we have a safety and security committee at the Ghana Football Association, which is in charge of all these things. We also have links with Interpol and the Ghana Police, and so we have some mechanisms in place. We're watching and monitoring," the FA boss said.

"If anybody finds himself or herself guilty, the law will deal with them accordingly. Because the laws are clearly spelt out as to do with what will be done to people when they infringe on any of these regulations," he added.
