GFA has 2 weeks to pay $1M compensation – Stevanovic

Serbian tactician Goran Stevanovic has made an official demand to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), asking for 820,000 euro ($1.08 million) equivalent to the amount of his 24-month salary, according to Sport365.com. Stevanovic signed a two-year contract in January 2011 with the prospect of leading Ghana in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations and 2013 for a monthly salary of 30,000 euro(GHC 68891.47).

The Ghana FA had the option of extending the tactician’s contract for another two years with a raise of 25 per cent. However, the Serbian tactician was fired last Monday, after the Black Stars’ disappointing campaign in the CAN 2012 that saw them finish in fourth place.

The GFA has been in negotiation with representatives of the coach and reportedly tabled a 3-month compensation that was rejected. Stevanovic’s German attorney has given the GFA a two-week notification after which he will legally escalate matters.
