GFA Nullifies Decision Against Goldfields

The management board of the Ghana Football Association has nullified the Appeals Committee’s ruling to deduct Six Point from Obuasi Goldfields accumulated 31 points.

The Board explained that the decision to nullify the punishment was due to an error in constituting the appeals committee.

According to an FA source, Richard Akpokavie who was part of the committee when the decision was reached was not eligible to be on it.

According to the source, Mr. Akpokavie was part of the old Committee and not the new one.

In view of the new directive, Goldfields would be credited with the six point implying that the 31 points already accumulated still stays as it is.

Okwawu United lodged a protest against Obuasi Goldfields for fielding an unqualified player.

The Board however reminded Goldfields and Okwawu United that the New Appeals Committee headed by Justice I.R. Aboagye would be meeting to take a decision on the protest.
