Fatau warms bench despite coach De Sa's departure

Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda remained on the Orlando Pirates bench despite the departure of Roger De Sa in the 2-1 win over Bidvest Wits on Tuesday.

Interim coach Eric Tinkler kept faith with the team that beat Ajax Cape Town 2-1 at home last week.

Senzo Meyiwa remained at post despite conceding 10 goals in his last eleven games, while Dauda continues to warm the bench.

There was a huge expectation for Fatau Dauda to get precious game time following the resignation of roger De Sa who refused to play the Ghana international during his reign.

The status quo has surprisingly remained despite the poor form of Meyiwa.

Club officials managed to convince the former AshantiGold shot-stopper off the idea of going on loan to get precious game time with a few months to the 2014 World Cup.

Officials maintain Dauda is key to their plans but their words are not backed by action by giving him the needed opportunities on the field of play.
