FA Cup winners to get financial backing for Africa campaign

A member of the MTN FA Cup Committee Kurt Okraku has revealed that the committee will in the near future support Ghanaian Clubs that will be able to qualify to Africa.

The winner of this Cup Competition (the FA Cup) represents Ghana at the CAF Confederation Cup on the African Continent.

It will be recalled that, Abedi Pele’s Division One side Nania FC failed to participate in Africa because of lack of money and this according to Kurt Okraku, will definitely end in the near future.

“We have thought of the way forward for clubs that will qualify to Africa. It was unfortunate Nania couldn’t make it last two seasons and we all are aware of the consequences. We the FA Cup Committee will support these clubs if they qualify to Africa in the near future,” Kurt Okraku said this during the launch of the 2012/2012 MTN FA Cup Competition at the Plush Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra on Tuesday.

New Edubiase who won this year’s MTN FA Cup are set to participate in the CAF Confederation Cup after they submitted a list of 29 players to the Confederation of African Football.
