Executive Council & Nyaho Back In Court

An Accra High Court will on Thursday consider an application for an abridgment of time filed by the Executive Council in its never-ending legal tussle with GFA chairman, Dr Nayho Tamakloe.

The Executive Council is pushing for the next hearing on the case, in which Dr Tamakloe is fighting an impeachment threat, to be pushed forward to April 7 instead of the original 14th April date.

Sources close to the Executive Council told Joy Sports that the court could proceed to hear the case on the same day if it endorses the application.

The Executive Council insists it wants to get the case out of the way in order to concentrate on the core business of administering the game.

An Accra High Court last week threw out the contempt case filed by the Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Dr Nyaho Tamakloe against the members of the executive council.

The court ruled against the beleaguered FA chairman and imposed a fine of ?5million on him.

Dr Tamakloe sued the Executive Council of the Football Association for contempt last month.

Members of the executive council also belong to congress and played an active role in moving for the no confidence vote in Dr Tamakloe.
