Exclusive: Clottey prefers Al Ahly over Al Wasl

Footy-ghana.com investigations can confirm that Ghana striker Emmanuel Clottey is keen on a move to CAF Champions League record holders Al Ahly, rather than a lucrative move to United Arab Emirates side Al Wasl.

According to our well-placed sources, Al Ahly yesterday submitted an improved offer for the Berekum Chelsea forward which was rejected by the club because the bid still fell short of the money-spinning deal offered by Al Wasl.

Footy-ghana.com also understands that Al Ahly head coach Hossam Al Badry’s comments about Clottey being overrated were only geared towards lowering the valuation for the player.

Footy-ghana.com has learnt that Clottey has informed Berekum Chelsea of his preference for Al Ahly because of the prospect of playing regularly in the CAF Champions League.

Al Wasl presented a bid inthe region of $1 million for Clottey.
