Ermis Aradippou close in on Ghana’s Asamoah

Ermis Aradippou are close to signing Ghanaian Derek Asamoah and the deal could be completed by this weekend.

The Europa League hopefuls have brought in 10 new players already including Brazilians Marcio Rosario and Packer from Portuguese side Maritimo but Asamoah could be coach Nicos Panagiotou's major summer signing.

Ermis spokesperson Kyriakos Hadjicharalambous confirmed to Super Sport FM that Asamoah will most likely be the club's first major signing of the season.

“We have agreed with him and he is expected in Cyprus. Our coach will determine if he is in the correct physical condition despite the player's impressive reputation. Tomorrow [today], he will have his first training session. He has had a good last season and is an experienced player. If no problems arise, the deal is as good as done,” the spokesman of the Greece side added.

The 33-year-old has previously played for clubs including Shrewsbury Town and Northampton Town in England, Nice, Locomotiv Sofia and others. He has been playing in Korea for Pohang Steelers for over two seasons now.
