Equipment for Akrodie Soccer Clubs

Nana Osei Daah Ababio, former Presiding Member of the Asunafo District Assembly, has presented two sets of jerseys and two footballs worth 2.5 million cedis to two local soccer clubs at Akrodie, near Goaso.

The beneficiary clubs are Golden Boys Football Club and United Football Club.

Nana Ababio, also the Chief of Konkromase in Kumasi and Assembly Member for Asafo electoral area at Akrodie said the presentation was his "widow's mite" towards sports development in the area.

He called on players of the two clubs to steer away from unhealthy rivalry and rather train hard to attain national recognition.

He advised the players to avoid the use of performance enhancing drugs as the practice could put their careers into jeopardy.

Mr Kwame Peter, team manager of United F/C, thanked Nana Ababio for his gesture and appealed to other philanthropists and organisations to come to their aid.

He gave the assurance that the two clubs would work hard to gain promotion to higher divisions.
