Dwarfs pose scare to Hearts

Accra, Oct. 14, GNA - The Robert Mensah Sports Stadium in Cape Coast will host the top-liner of the week seven matches of the 2010/2011 Glo Premier League when Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs and Accra Hearts of Oak clash on Sunday.

Matches between the two sides are always tension-packed and Sunday's meeting is expected to follow the same tradition. Dwarfs, who rejoined the elite division this season after a four-year stint in the second tier league, have always served as tough customers for Hearts on any day and their performance so far in the six-week competition gives a strong conviction that the Phobians will be in for a tough fight.

Hearts have been inconsistent with a paltry eight points from a maximum 24, and their output have resulted in growing pressure on head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin and his charges to excel. Coach Fabin was touted a hero for guiding the Phobians to the 'Top Four' title a few months ago, but the inability of whiz-kid Edwin Osei "Pele" and others to replicate their performance in the Premier League has given the fans sleepless nights.

Even in the wake of their unpredictable status, the Phobians silenced returnees BA Stars with a lone goal victory at the Sunyani Coronation Park a fortnight ago, and are capable of achieving a similar feat against Dwarfs in Cape Coast.

Dwarfs appear better composed with the core of their players who led their return to the top flight including the likes of Mustapha Douglas, Bismark Asiedu and Ekow Ampiah among others still at post whilst Hearts have reconstituted its team for almost every game. The Cape Coasters are still basking in the glory of their 2-1 win over Kumasi King Faisal away at the Baba Yara Stadium and envisage to repeat the dose over their guests on their favourite home soil. Leaders Kessben FC will face unarguably their toughest away test yet as they storm Obuasi to face last year's runners-up Ashantigold. At the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi Asante Kotoko look set to put behind their no-show against Arsenal last week when they lock horns against the 'Pride of the North', Real Tamale United whilst Wa All Stars are tipped to pick the three points at the expense of visiting King Faisal at Wa.

BA Stars welcome New Edubiase to the Sunyani Coronation Park in a tricky encounter which outcome can go either way whilst Berekum Chelsea battle it out with reigning champions, Aduana Stars at the Berekum Golden City Park in a regional derby, which will bring out the best from the two sides to renew the supremacy on the local scene. Debutants Tudu Mighty Jets host Kpando Heart of Lions at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra whose result can go either way whilst Berekum Arsenal trek to the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman as guests of Liberty Professionals with an equal entertaining encounter.
