Duncan rubbishes media reports

Accra, Sept. 5, GNA -- David Duncan, head coach of Obuasi Ashgold has rubbished reports in sections of the media that he had packed bag and baggage and vacated his job.

He told the GNA Sports that 'I am still in charge=94 and wondered where the story had originated from.

The former Accra Great Olympics trainer discarded the allegations and asked that the information be treated with the required contempt. Coach Duncan currently in Accra due to a five-day break being enjoyed by the team as a result of the pending Champions League assignments by Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko that has put the League on break says, 'it baffles me as to what the originators of the report want to achieve'.

Ashantigold lead the two-week old 16-team summit with four points after recording the highest score line on match day one and churned out an away draw in their second match against Real Tamale United (RUT) last weekend.

The vibrant coach was riddled as to why any person(s) would describe him as technically bankrupt when his team is leading the log in two games.

Coach Duncan was convinced the story was an attempt to derail his focus of resurrecting the former champions from their slumber which has seen an on and off performances since taking the local scene by storm in early 90s.

The young coach touted as the man for the future, said he is undeterred by the current predicament and that he is resolved to force the supposed detractors eat humble pie with results on the field. Duncan took over the reigns of the Club earlier in the year with his contract running until December.

Some sections of the supporters of AshGold reportedly asked for the head of the coach after their one all drawn game against RTU last Sunday.
