Dujkovic to discuss future with GFA

Accra, June 27, GNA - Coach Ratomir Dujkovic has said he would discuss his future with the Black Stars, with officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for a possible extension of his contract. Answering questions from the press over his future with Ghana, the coach said: "My contract runs till the close of December so until then I can't say anything now."

He said his future with Ghana would depend on the outcome of the discussions with the GFA, later in the year.

His view runs contrary to his earlier remark a day before the World Cup, when he made an emphatic statement that he would not stay on after the competition.

Coach Dujkovic prior to the competition had made it clear that his days with Ghana would be over after the World Cup, obviously in reaction to intense criticisms from the press and sporting public over his selection for the World Cup and a poor show at the last Cup of Nations in Egypt early this year.

From all indications, the Serbian seem to have redeemed himself with the excellent performance of the Stars in the World Cup, which saw the team winning two matches against highly ranked teams to cruise into the last 16 of the competition.

Dujkovic took over the job with the Stars mid-way through the 2006 World Cup qualifiers and masterminded the qualification of the team to the Germany competition.

On the game against the Brazilians, Doya, as he is popularly known was not impressed with the way the referee handled the game saying "he would have been better off, if he had worn the yellow jersey of Brazil. "But I'm proud of my boys they did well up to this stage".
