Black Stars and Astana striker Patrick Twumasi believes his team’s progression in the UEFA Champions League is due to the competitive nature of the Kazakhstani Premier League.

The youngster is seeking another Champions’ League group stage qualification with his team when as they take on Lithuanian side Žalgiris in the playoffs on Wednesday.

Twumasi believes the competitive nature of the Kazakhstan league is a true reflection of his team’s advancement.

“The league is competitive and is really tough. Sometimes when u look at it, you will think is so easy but it’s really of high quality because if not, we could not have qualified to the group phase of the UEFA Champions league” he told Starr FM Sports.

Twumasi failed to make his debut against Mozambique in the 2017 AFCON qualifiers for the Black Stars.
