Division one clubs to start registration

Registration of division one clubs in anticipation of the commencement of the embattled league begins in earnest on Monday, 25 November. Although no date has been officially fix for the league, officials say it would kick-start before the end of the year.

Douglas Djarbeng, Chairman of the Division One League Board, told the GNA Sports in Accra that the registration takes place at the DOL office at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) secretariat.

When asked if Tudu Mighty Jets, who are in a legal tussle with the GFA could register, he answered in the affirmative. He said Jets have the right to register as a division one club but DOL is yet to decide on whether they (Jets) could participate in the league.

Djarbeng said the DOL was working around the clock to ensure the league commences before the end of the December.

The division one league has been on hold for months now because of a appending court case involving Tudu Mighty Jets and the GFA. GFA handed a three-year ban on the Tudu club for intentionally pulling out of last year's middle league. Jets resorted to court action because it said the GFA failed to give them a hearing before imposing the ban.
