Ghana-born French World Cup winner Marcel Desailly made a surprise visit to the Black Stars training session on Saturday to boost the side ahead of Tuesday's crucial second-leg of the 2018 World Cup qualifier.

The 47-year-old who was born in Ghana but captained the French national team emerged at the Accra Sports Stadium in the company of an unknown friend.

Desailly who spotted an easy going grey shirt over jeans was welcomed by Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi.

He later exchanges pleasantries with the officials present and former Ghana defender Anthony Baffoe who was also present to witness the session.

The former Olympique Marseille, AC Milan and Chelsea star also had the chance to speak to Andre Ayew who was on the sidelines with his left knee strapped in ice.

Desailly however did not stay till the end of the session.

The 1998 World Cup winner with France has a house and other investments including a multipurpose sports complex in Ghana.

He was once in the gunning to become coach of the Black Stars but pulled out of the race at the last minute.

The Black Stars resumed training ahead of their return 2018 World Cup qualifying game against Comoros on Saturday evening.

Ghana had been held to a goalless draw in the first leg match played in Moroni on Friday.

Avram Grant's side will be looking to secure the expected victory over Comoros in the return leg to be played on Tuesday in Kumasi to progress into the group phase of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
