Danish Club To Buy Ghanaian Club

Danish Superliga side Midtjylland are set to spend several hundred thousand pounds buying an African club which they intend to use as their feeder team.

Maamobi Youth Football Club, based in the Ghanaian capital Accra, is the target, and Midtjylland, nicknamed the Wolves, hope to complete the deal before Christmas.

"It is a club full of talent," Midtjylland director Jens Orgaard told Danish radio station Radio Midt&Vest.

He believes the Central Jutland side will also benefit financially from the new supply of players, despite the inital outlay.

"As well as developing talents for our own Superliga team we will be able to sell on players to other European clubs and boost our finances that way," he explained.

Midtjylland already have good contacts in Ghana and have tried to establish a football academy there, but this move is far more ambitious.
