DCE and MP present jerseys and footballs to schools

Inchaban (W/R) June 23, GNA - The first consignment of a set of jerseys and a football each has been presented to three First Cycle Schools by Mr Enoch Kojo Appiah, Shama District Chief Executive (DCE), at Inchaban on Thursday.

The schools are the Upper Inchaban Methodist and Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Primary Schools and the Lower Inchaban Catholic Primary School.

Mr Appiah said the donation of the sports equipment, which is a joint initiative by him and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Shama, Mr Gabriel Kodwo Essilfie, is meant to promote sports and academic excellence in the District.

The DCE at separate presentation ceremonies at Inchaban said the next presentations would be made to the remaining 57 primary schools in the District.

Mr Appiah said the 60 sets of jerseys and 60 footballs were estimated at 28,000 Ghana Cedis.

He urged the school authorities to put the jerseys and the footballs to good use by encouraging their pupils to utilize their leisure times profitably.
