Congo drop LuaLua For Ghana Match

Striker Lomana LuaLua has not been included in the DR Congo squad for the 2006 World Cup qualifier against Ghana in Kumasi on 10 October. The Portsmouth player missed the last qualifier against South Africa in controversial circumstances.

The DR Congo's French manager Claude Leroy claimed that LuaLua had told him he would be playing in the game while the striker said that he was injured and unable to travel.

LuaLua has now recovered from the injury and came on as a second-half substitute in Portsmouth's 2-2 draw with Norwich on Saturday.

However, Monaco's Shabani Nonda is included on the list and is in line for a long awaited return to the DR Congo team.

The France-based forward travelled to Kinshasa for the qualifier against South Africa but did not play because of a thigh injury.

Injuries have forced Nonda out of the Simbas squad for the last 18 months.
