Coconut Groves hold Dwarfs to a draw

Cape Coast, May 6, GNA - Elmina Coconut Groves nearly caused an upset when they held Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs to 1-1 draw in their Division One league match played at the Robert Mensah Stadium on Sunday. Right from the referees whistle, Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom's Club took the pitch with confidence and matched their opponents boot to boot for the greater part of the proceedings.

They however had to wait until the 40th minute when midfielder Ebow Conduah after collecting a midfield pass disposed of his marker and gave a pass to outside left, Mallam Adjei to score the opener. Undaunted by the lead, Dwarfs fought back gamely and pulled even through their centre half, Kwesi Philips a minute to the end of the first time.

The second half became balanced with Coconut Grove slightly ahead as they tormented the Dwarfs defence on several occasions but they were to ward off their attack. Their best chance came in the 85th minute when Conduah released a powerful short towards goal but Dwarfs goalkeeper Ibrahim Mohammed dived full length to save the situation.
