Clubs urged to do away with hooliganism

Nkawie (Ash) Oct 28, GNA - Mr Bernard B. Yirenkyi, Board Chairman of Atwima Mponua Rural Bank has advised supporters and playing body of Nana Kuffour Stars, a second division football club in Ashanti Region against hooliganism and indiscipline.

He said this will enable the club maintain its good reputation in the league and region as a whole.

Mr Yirenkyi gave the advise when he chaired the club's fund-raising harvest held at Nkawi last Sunday.

He also called for cooperation between the management of the club for an effective administration.

Nana Twum Barima Appau III, Nkawie Kumahene who is the patron of the club, called for proper accounting in the club's financial affairs. Nana Barima Appau urged parents to encourage their children to go into sports for them to come out with their hidden talents saying soccer is business now.

An amount of 11 million cedis was realised at the function of which Nana Nkawie-Kumahene donated two million cedis. The Atwima Mponua Rural Bank and Fabi Timbers donated 1.5 million cedis each.
