Chelsea to be kingmakers in Brong Ahafo plot to thwart Ashgold

*They may be sitting atop the Glo Ghana Premier League, 3 points to the good of second-placed Aduana Stars with just a game to play, but Obuasi Ashantigold could yet laugh on the wrong side of their mouth come the final Match Day of the Glo Ghana Premier League 2009/10 season.*

According to Ark Radio Sports in Sunyani, the Brong Ahafo Regional trio of Bechem Chelsea, Berekum Arsenals and Aduana Stars are plotting to help the latter clinch the league title for the region.

In the event, Bechem Chelsea, themselves the sensational debutants of last season but who did not attain any of the heights Aduana have transcended this term, hold the key to denying Ashgold the title and handing it over to Aduana Stars.

It means that Aduana who beat Ashgold 1-0 in Dormaa before holding out for a 0-0 scoreline in Obuasi will upstage Ashgold based on superior head-to-head record should Chelsea beat the Aboakese lads in Berekum.

Ashgold certainly need just a draw to seal their fourth Ghana but Chelsea have sworn to crown Aduana Stars kings.

The word on the streets of Sunyani and elsewhere in the Brong Ahafo Region is pay back time for Ashantigold, Asante Kotoko and the Ashanti Region as a whole.

They claim if Kotoko celebrated with Ashgold after apparently playing it ‘soft’ for the Obuasi club’s victory in Kumasi on Match Day 28 because of ‘Asanteman Nkosuo,’ then Brong Ahafo teams are also going to celebrate ‘Brongman Nkosuo’ with the same song anthem, ‘Aha aye de oo bebiaa awu’ sung by Nana Boro.
