CAF official to visit Ghana

Accra, July 8, GNA- General Seyi Memene, Vice President of Confederation of African Football (CAF) is expected in Ghana on Monday, July 14, to meet officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA). General Memene would brief the GFA and Mr. Kwadjo Baah-Wiredu the minister of Youth, Education and Sports (YES) on CAF's plan for the establishment of a soccer academy in Ghana.

The CAF official would also hold discussions with the GFA officials on issues concerning development of football in the country as well as in Africa.

Ghana is among the six African countries selected for the establishment of soccer academy by CAF to help in the promotion of football. An official of the GFA told the GNA Sports that, Ghana's centre would serve the needs of other West African countries.
