CAF inspection team arrive today

An inspection team from the Confederation of African Football will arrive in town today to assess Ghana?s preparations to host the 2008 Cup of Nations.

The four-man team will primarily be expected to have discussions with the Local Organizing Committee and government on Ghana?s program for a successful hosting of the biennial continental tournament.

With just about thirty months to the CAN 2008 Ghana has yet to begin construction and rehabilitation of two new stadia and three existing ones.

Sources close to the LOC however say CAF will not concern itself with the construction of infrastructure on this first visit.

According to the sources, the CAF inspection team would be sharing ideas with Ghana on how best to market the tournament.
