Bubuashie community honours Otto Addo

Accra, Aug 18, GNA - The Otto Addo Keep Fit Club based at Bubuashie in the Okaikwei South Electoral Area of the Greater Accra Region at the weekend held an award ceremony in honour of the player, a member of Ghana's Black Stars at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

The award is meant to honour Addo for his dedicated services to the Club and the nation.

The award dubbed, "Eagle of Bubuashie" was the community's appreciation and acknowledgement of the player's contribution towards the excellent performance of the national team.

Mr Quaranchie Adama Tettey, the Assemblyman for the Area who read the citation, said, "it is our hope that Otto Addo, a native of the area upon receipt of the award would be a shinning example to motivate the youth within the community to lead upright lives.

He said that "our fathers told us stories of what the eagle stood for and what it has achieved in its lifespan", and Addo's contribution to the success of the Stars has stunned the world.

The proprietor of the "The Looks Restaurant" and Chairman of the Association of the Keep Fit Club, Mr John Kofi Amuzu thanked the elders and the club executives for initiating the programme. Mr Amuzu advised the youth in the area to strive hard in all that they engage and not relent on their oars so as to achieve the hearts desires and contribute towards the development of the community. Otto Addo expressed his appreciation to the elders and the organisers of the Bubuashie community for their kind gesture of honouring him and promised to put up his best to bring more laurels to the community.
