Bortey And Kingston Blow For Hearts of Oak

Hearts of Oak midfield mover Laryea Kingston has been ruled out of Sunday’s premier league match with arch rivals Asante Kotoko. Kingston was expected back from his new base in Israel to play a pivotal role in the Hearts team but sources close to the Hearts technical bench say he is out of the plans of coach Herbert Addo.

Laryea who helped the phobians to their sixth title on the spin vowed to return for Sunday’s match because he has not played in a Hearts-kotoko tie since he moved to Hearts from Olympics two seasons ago.

Benard Don Bortey who was also expected in for the match has not been able to make the trip even though hearts officials are still optimistic about his chances of arriving in Ghana before Sunday.

The absence opf those two players leaves hearts with an inexperienced side with as many as four of the regulars tasting top-flight football for the first time.

While Hearts look inexperienced Kotoko has added quality with the arrival of two- time MVP Charles Taylor. Taylor will be playing against his friends and former teammates at Hearts Of oak. Big question is can he work his magic against Hearts of Oak?

One Hearts of Oak fan who spoke to myjoyonline.com was vehement in his answer “We will show him that we are his teachers. He rose to fame with us and we taught him. He will play all the football he knows but he cannot score against Hearts of Oak.

We will beat Asante Kotoko even if they have Charles Taylor and we don’t have Don Bortey and Kingston. The young players we have this year have massive potential.

In 2000 we won the African champions league, the premier league and the Super Cup with the 64-battalion squad. This year we have the B52 bombers and we will bomb Kotoko out on Sunday.”
